When digital products go through major updates, one of the biggest challenges is ensuring that the new design actually improves the user experience — rather than creating new barriers. Every color, button, and flow influences how people interact with a platform and perceive the brand.

With that in mind, Caju, one of Brazil’s largest corporate benefits companies, partnered with Venturus to validate the user experience of its redesigned app and new Design System.

The challenge: evolving without losing clarity

Caju serves more than 40,000 companies across Brazil, connecting businesses and employees through a complete benefits platform. Its main touchpoints are the web portal and mobile app, both used daily by managers and employees who rely on Caju for meal and food benefits.

With a redesigned app and a brand-new Design System, Caju wanted to ensure that the new interface was intuitive, clear, and enjoyable for all audiences — from employees using the app for everyday purchases to managers overseeing hundreds of corporate cards.

The key question was: would these changes truly improve the experience?

To answer that with confidence, Caju partnered with Venturus to conduct a comprehensive usability validation process, combining research methodology, technical expertise, and fast execution.

The solution: people-centered usability testing

Mirror-room testing to observe real-time reactions.

Our Design team planned and executed a series of Usability Tests, both in-person and remote, with real users representing Caju’s audience.
The goal was to identify friction points, assess the clarity of new flows, and validate new functionalities — all in less than one month, without impacting the product launch timeline.

The tests were conducted with two user groups:

  • B2C (in-person): employees using Caju benefits for meals and groceries.
  • B2B (remote): companies and managers offering Caju benefits to their teams.

To ensure accurate results, the process included:

  1. Defining recruitment criteria and sending targeted invitations;
  2. Designing test scripts with realistic usage scenarios and essential tasks;
  3. Running observation sessions and recording interactions in a mirror room (for in-person tests);
  4. Gathering qualitative and quantitative feedback using System Usability Metrics (SUM);
  5. Analyzing and categorizing the findings;
  6. Delivering prioritized recommendations for improvement.
“From the first draft to the final report, we worked side by side with Caju. Our goal was to turn feedback into actionable insights, always supported by real usage evidence,” says Vinícius Tavares, Designer Researcher at Venturus.

Results and insights

The collaboration led to the identification and correction of 10 critical usability issues before launch, along with adjustments that reduced task completion time by up to 50%.
These improvements translated into smoother navigation, fewer errors, and a stronger perception of value among users.

Beyond the numbers, the project helped build a foundation for continuous improvement. Caju now has a qualified and engaged user base to support future testing and research cycles — a key step toward a user-driven culture in product development.

“Testing the solution before launch was essential. We could see people’s reactions in real time and discovered many aspects that could be improved. That was fundamental to ensure the new app really fit our clients’ needs,” says José Augusto Bezerra, User Research Lead at Caju.

Conclusion: validated innovation, stronger experiences

More than identifying adjustments, this project showed how an evidence-based approach can reduce risk and accelerate decision-making.
By combining research, design, and technology, Venturus helped Caju turn user data into strategic product decisions, delivering a more consistent and user-centered experience.

That’s how we work with every partner: diving deep into their context, testing hypotheses, and co-creating solutions that make sense for both business and people.
